Welcome/Sign-Up bonus

Almost every online casino in this day and age has adopted welcome bonus as their primary promotion. To claim this bonus, players first need to register and deposit in an online casino that offers this bonus.

After making the first deposit, the casino will add the same deposit amount to your bonus account. The bonus account is independent from the cash account you deposited your funds in. So if you deposit $100, another bonus of $100 to your bonus account which then makes your casino funds total to $200.

We need to put emphasis on the fact that the funds on your bonus account cannot yet be withdrawn. Players need to fulfill what is called a Playthough requirement, which is explained in the terms and conditions section further down this article.

Re-load bonus

Because the Welcome bonus scheme was a major success, online casinos have taken this concept a step further through their Re-load bonuses. Re-load bonus follows the same principle as the welcome bonus, except for the fact that these bonuses are rewarded on deposits after the first one. It is up to the casino to reward the number of deposits these bonuses are eligible for.

It is not always the case that casinos reward a 100% bonus on all deposits. While it is commonly the case that casinos offer 100% deposit bonus (or in some cases more) on the first deposit, the second and following deposits may attract less percentage. Therefore, it can easily be the case that the casino offers 100% match bonus up to $200 on the first deposit, 50% deposit bonus up to $100 (which means you can deposit $200 to reach maximum) on the second deposit and only offer 25% on the third deposit.

Preferred payment deposit method

There might be numerous reasons for an online casino to prefer one (or more) method of payment over others; the transaction might be quicker, it might be more secure for the player and the casino etc. To encourage players to deposit with those methods, online casinos add a bonus to their deposit if the player uses that particular method to make his deposit. The term ‘deposit’ in this case may refer to the first deposit or any other deposit, depending on how the casino has defined this bonus.

Normally, the casino quotes this bonus on a percentage basis. So for example, a casino may give 10% bonus on a deposit through a web-wallet such as Neteller or Skrill. Remember that this is still a bonus which is added to the bonus account.

  • All bonus amounts are subject to wagering or playthrough requirements. The bonus must be played through (wagered) 30 times (30x) by you before it can be transferred from your Bonus Balance to your Cash Balance. For example, if you deposit $100 and receive a $100 credit bonus, the Play through Requirement will be 30 x $100 = $3000. Some casinos transfer the entire fund at once after the player fulfills the requirement. Whereas others, for example EmuCasino, divided the process in installments of 10% meaning (referring to the above example), if you wager through $300, 10% of the bonus will convert into cash.
  • If the player claims the deposit bonus and is not successful in fulfilling the playthrough requirements and loses all the bonus cash, he will forfeit his deposit amount as well. This is because players normally playthrough their real cash first.
  • If the player attempts a withdrawal before fulfilling the playthrough requirements, the bonus will be terminated.
  • The casino will state the maximum bet amount allowed in a single stake while betting with bonus cash. Bonuses may be forfeited if the player makes a single bet over that amount.
  • Not all bets are considered to be equal when it comes to betting with bonus money. Pokies generally count 100% towards the wagering requirement but other games such as Blackjack may count as only 10%. So, if a player bets $1 on blackjack and wins another $1; that one dollar will count only as $0.01 on the playthrough count.
  • Additional terms and conditions will apply depending on the casino.

*These are subject to change as per casino rule; however, these are the general stipulations that normally apply to bonuses mentioned above
